"HIAHITAM SUKHAMDUKHAM AYUSTASYA HITAHITAM, MANM CH TASCHA YANTROKTAM AYURVED SA UCHYATE" - Charak Chapter 1-4

The science which describes helpful and harmful substances, food, lifestyle, and medicines for living being, is called Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a part of the ancient Indian system of healing. 'AYUR' in the word Ayurveda means the knowledge of one's whole life span from birth to death and 'VEDA' means the knowledge of the real in all aspects. Ayurveda is therefore not just about medicine and physical health, but it is about the whole being and the whole of life. It is about various aspects such as healing, energy, kindness, compassion, cooking, music, beauty, colours etc.

AYURVED DARSHAN (Vedic philosophy)

Even in this fast jet age there are of course new hopes and fresh aspirations throughout the world, and there is also a tremendous quest for inner guidance, particularly, among younger people. At such a juncture, we look into spiritual and cultural heritages of humanity, not in order to go back, but to look for the light, inspiration and courage to go forward into the future with clarity and confidence.

Vedic philosophy encompasses this very unique corpus of wisdom going back unbroken for thousands of years to the very dawn of history. Other older civilizations also existed, but their wisdom is no longer alive and available to us.
One can go to see the pyramids and sphinxes but one truly meet the civilizations of the pyramids and sphinxes because it is no longer alive. Everyone is aware of the present position of old Mesopotamian civilization, but Vedic is still alive. Its dynamic flow is still present in some parts of South East Asia.

The West never ceases to be amazed at the fact that Indians pray to rivers, plants, Majaars, mosques, rain and hills. Our Yogis and Sufis are still a mystery for the rest of the world.
