Oil bath (Pizhichil) - The treatment is also known as Kaya Seka, Taila Seka and Sarvanga Sneha. The Ayurvedic term Pizhichil translates to squeezing. Medicated oil used during the massage therapy is generously squeezed in a free flow method from a cloth soaked with warm medicated oil onto the patient’s body. Navarakizhi - Is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment. The treatment is termed so, as rice (Navara) is the main ingredient in the preparation. The specific rice (navara) is boiled in a mixture of cow milk and herbs. It is then wrapped in a suitable cloth to form a pouch. A massage with medicated oil may be applied over the body prior to the application of bolus, as per the instruction of the physician. The pouch is then massaged over the body after dipping it several times in the mixture of warm milk and decoction in a rhythmic manner. During the course of the treatment the rice/ navara pouch gets reduced and nullifies since its content is absorbed on the body. Time 60-80 minute

Grain massage - Also known as, Potli massage is done with the help of Potli, small heated herbal pouches. The pouch has dried or fresh Ayurvedic herbs and are handpicked according to the ailments that one is being treated for. A soft muslin pouch is dipped in hot Ayurvedic oil. Body Paste

Body Paste - This consist of a combination of wheat bran (choker), gram flour, yogurt or cream of milk (malai), clay (multani mitti) and a pinch of turmeric. This paste is applied on the body, along with oil. The paste (also known as Ubtan) is washed off after 20 to 30 minutes, while bathing. It helps to purify the skin, leaving it smooth and bright. Ayurvedic Paste (Ubtan), therefore, is a traditional method of removing dead epithelial cells, softening the skin and enhancing skin beauty. Time 60-80 minute

Shirobasti scalp irrigation – Also referred to as scalp irrigation is an Ayurvedic therapy in which the circumference of the head is covered by a cap that is filled with therapeutic oil for certain duration of time. It is effective for treating chronic diseases. The specific oils used in Shirobasti, convey the potency of the herbs which have the property of inducing deeper healing to the site of action. Medically it is difficult to explain how the Shirobasti acts. Experimental studies have variously implicated the medullary reticular formation, the thalamus, and the basal forebrain in the generation of peace, while the brainstem reticular formation, the midbrain, the sub thalamus, the thalamus, and the basal forebrain have all been suggested to play a role in the generating wakefulness.
